Earth Images Foundation is a film production company based in Oakland, California. We work on location around the world, creating television documentaries about the Earth, its beauty and its processes, and how we humans relate to it. Our work can be found on PBS and streaming on Amazon Prime, PBS Passport, and other platforms.
Diane LaMacchia writes, produces, directs and edits Earth Images’ films. She is one of the cinematographers for Doug's Geology Journal. With a background in visual arts, theater, journalism and public affairs, she enjoys exploring complicated subjects and sharing a nuanced understanding with a broad audience.
Doug Prose is the Director of Photography for Earth Images and writes, produces and directs. He is the on-camera host of Doug's Geology Journal. As a percussionist and guitarist, he contributes original music to many of our soundtracks. Doug has roots as a geologist, having worked in the Mojave Desert, studying the impact of humans on desert landscapes.
